Lincart Gallery is pleased to present our first solo show with celebrated Bay Area art maven, Eleanor Harwood. While Eleanor is widely appreciated for her keen eye as a local curator and gallerist, we are thrilled to further illuminate her talent as a visual artist in her own right. Using both representational and abstracted imagery, her paintings often depict eerily familiar dream-like environments filled with archetypes of nature and longing. Trees, moody skies and burst of vibrant color create haunting landscapes that capture the viewer’s imagination. Her current series of mixed media paintings investigate the "power of a moment", both on an internal and global scale.
Eleanor graduated with a masters from CCA in 2005. She has been featured in New American Paintings and recieved the Richard K. Prince Scholarship Award for academic and artistic excellence.

In the small gallery, we are also excited to showcase a group of paintings by venerable Los Angeles artist, Penelope Krebs. Most known for her brightly colored striped paintings, her most recent work reflects her move from the city into the country and has taken a departure into the realm of representation. On view will be a series of gouache and watercolored birds, rendered with gorgeous and masterful detail.

Next Lincart opening, "Precious Cargo" featuring Gail Tarantino and Darrel Mortimer, Saturday August 9th…
